Goosebump

By Tamara Hunter

(One of my In A Sentence entries, for the word: “Goosebump”)

I only have one goosebump
I somehow lost the rest
But luckily for me
It’s the one I love the best
It keeps me company
When I get a fright
Or when I’m on the toilet
In the middle of the night
When I hear a song
A note so pure and true
Or when I’m in the throes of love
Or when I’m feeling blue
When I hear a story
Of ghosts or spirits lost
When I tiptoe through the morning
The windows caked with frost
If I lost this one last goosebump
I’m not sure what I’d do
Promote a pimple to the job
To masquerade in lieu.

Excellent Tamara! This is one of my favourites – made me larf and larf when I first read it.

Wonderful poetry, leaves me wishing I had even thought of it, let alone being able to have written it myself.

    Tamara:

I know I am a little late, but I love poetry. You are able to tell a complete story in such a short amount of time. Everyone needs that special goosebump.

    lovely
